ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADVISORIES

NEW INFORMATION AVAILABLE

We are always working to improve Information Technology for the NYLS community, and in keeping with that, we have added more infomration in order to better assist our users.

NYLS TECHNOLOGY HIGHLIGHTS

Welcome or Welcome Back to All!
Here are some highlights of the technology available to you at NYLS:

Wireless Network

New York Law School realizes the importance of stable and reliable wireless networking services.  To ensure this, we are constantly working to improve our wireless networking environment for the NYLS community.  For more information, go to Wireless Computing.

EZInfo

EZInfo is a secure site that uses SSL encryption, which ensures that all data being transmitted between the web browser and the web site is encrypted. Additional information on EZInfo is available, or to access EZInfo go to http://www.nyls.edu/ezinfo where you can login with your Student ID and PIN.

Alumni NetConnect

The Administrative system used by the Office of Development and Alumni Relations has a web interface for all alumni, Alumni NetConnect. This system enables all students to retain the use of their NYLS email account after graduation by forwarding their email to an alumni account and then, in turn, to a personal email account of their choice.

Infrastructure Upgrades

Important infrastructure changes are continually being made behind-the-scenes to technology at NYLS. The school has once again greatly increased bandwidth to the Internet and the wireless network has been expanded throughout the campus. Most recently, the NYLS dorm had wireless networking access expanded throughout the entire building.

Remote desktop management

Altiris, a remote desktop management tool enables OIT to easily push out security patches and software updates, facilitate the PC rollout process and manage the school’s computer inventory. Most importantly, it enables OIT to remotely access any NYLS-owned computer, when the user grants it, to troubleshoot problems remotely. This allows OIT staff to see the same thing the user sees while the problem is occurring thus speeding up troubleshooting and training.

We hope you’ll be pleased with your computing resources at NYLS . As always, if you have any questions or concerns with any technology at NYLS, please contact the OIT Central Help Desk via phone at x2316 (on campus) 866 306-2769 (off campus) or stop by the On Site Help Desk. The On Site Help Desk is located just off the Student Lounge in the Lower Level of the C building
