The faculty created the Law School’s seven academic centers to maximize the effectiveness of their research, scholarship, teaching, and activism, and to increase the opportunity for students to engage in important public policy issues. The centers complement course work in civil rights, international human rights, international trade and finance, constitutional law, urban legal studies, media law, intellectual property law, immigration law, refugee and asylum law, Internet law, and professional values and practice.

All students at New York Law School have a variety of opportunities to participate in the work of the centers. Through the Harlan Scholars Program, top students are offered the opportunity for specialized study in one of the centers. (Click here for more information about the Harlan Scholars Program)

My office is responsible for helping young people between the ages of 16 and 21 transition out of foster care. We have a variety of programs that help them get higher education, housing, jobs, and other types of support. It’s stressful. I have to be very efficient with my time. I can’t burn the midnight oil. I leave at 5:30 every day to go to class. More
