Lisa Abrams is a graduate of University of Illinois College, practiced as an insurance defense attorney in Chicago, and led the career services office of Chicago-Kent College of Law as the Assistant Dean. Lisa has written extensively about career planning and development. Her book, The Official Guide to Legal Specialties: An Insider’s Guide to Every Major Practice Area, is on the bookshelf of every law school career services office in the country.
In her research for the legal specialties book, Lisa interviewed more than 120 attorneys in 30 different practice areas, asking them what they liked about their jobs and what advice they had to offer law students. She currently heads the Career Services office at the University of Chicago School of Law and works as a consultant, providing career planning advice to law students and career transition advice to lawyers.
