New Connect-ED system activation Friday, October 12, 2007
On Friday, October 12, 2007, after 3:30 P.M., the Law School will conduct an inaugural test call using the new Connect-ED system. Remember to keep your personal information up-to-date, or you may not receive a call in the event of an emergency. You may stop or change your message delivery preferences at anytime.
Note: On activation of SMS or text message option in Connect-ED: Only your mobile number and confirmation to the first SMS/text message is needed to activate this option. After you receive the first automated text message, reply with the words YES NYLS. This will place you on a list to receive future notifications via SMS or text message.
The NTI Group (the owner of the Connect-ED service) provides an encrypted, online process to securely import the Law School’s existing data into its account in a secure and reliable manner. The Law School maintains and owns all of the data. We do not sell or share your information, and everything is kept in strict confidence for official emergency use only.
Campus Crime and Security Survey statistics submitted to the
Office of Postsecondary Education
The annual submission of Campus Crime and Security Survey statistics to the Office of Postsecondary Education (Department of Education) was completed by the Assistant Vice President for Security & Safety on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. The reporting of annual crime statistics is required under Section 485 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, as a condition of an institution's participation in the Federal student financial assistance programs. You may view this and previous years statistics at the Office of Postsecondary Education web-site.
2007 - 2008 Crime Statistic Collection Period begins September 1, 2007
The 2007 - 2008 crime statistics collection period begin on September 1, 2007 (and ends August 31, 2008). The crime statistics collected from 2006 - 2007 period will be included in the Sixteenth Annual Report of Campus Security Policies and Procedures. The Fifteenth Report is available now and the Sixteenth Report will be available after October 1, 2007.
First Aid &Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Recertification Classes held
The law school and several Summit Security Services staff attended a certification classes in basic first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (including the operation of an automatic external defibrillator- AED) over the past summer. These American Heart Association (AHA) classes were conducted by staff from New York University Medical Center (NYUMC). NYUMC is the administrator (medical director) of the law school's AED program. The certification is valid for a two year period.
