Wall Street Specialized Externship in Business and Financial Services
The Wall Street Business and Financial Services Specialized Externship is an opportunity for upper-level students to gain practical experience within the business and financial services industry. Potential placements include banking institutions, brokerage firms, corporations, law firms, or governmental agencies. Assignments may range from legal research on a variety of current legal issues, to working on regulatory/compliance issues, to reviewing and preparing agreements and policy manuals under the supervision of a mentor attorney.
Students will attend a weekly specialized lawyering seminar at New York Law School that runs concurrent with the placement. The seminar will focus on important issues in the legal field and student placement experiences, as well as explore advanced business and finance topics. Students will earn one (1) credit for the seminar and two (2) credits for the placement and work approximately 10–15 hours per week during the semester.
