In South Africa today, White South Africans make up 7% of the population and own 70% of the farmland. Join us to examine the South African land restitution law, which aims to redress through a fair legal process the dispossession and confiscation of land from Black South Africans during the period of colonialism and apartheid. Professor Heinz Klug of the University of Wisconsin, Professor Wilmot James of Brown University, and Professor Sindiso MnisiWeeks of the University of Massachusetts Amherst will be in conversation with Professor Penelope Andrews, Director of the Racial Justice Project.
