Our legal system asks: What law was broken? What should the sentence be? Restorative Justice asks: Who was hurt? What do they need to heal? Who needs to take responsibility?

Please join Professor Susan Abraham and guest speaker, Erika Sasson, lawyer and restorative justice facilitator, for a discussion about how a restorative process can fill the need for reconciliation, healing, and accountability after a violent crime has occurred. She will explain how a restorative process she facilitated following a homicide came to be, and the role it played in the process.

This event is co-sponsored by the Restorative Justice Project and NYLS Student Organizations: Restorative Justice Law Student Association, Criminal Law Society, and the National Lawyers Guild Chapter.

NYLS students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend.
