The Task Force was created to identify the short and long-term needs of the Tribeca community and develop a plan with clear attainable deliverables. New York Law School acts as a neutral convening power for this group and provides meeting space, communications channels, research, and links to technical assistance.

The vision for the Task Force began in March 2021 when Anthony Crowell, Dean and President of New York Law School, published an open letter in the Tribeca Citizen pledging support of Tribeca’s recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. Following this letter, NYLS began coordinating an effort to assist the Tribeca community through the pandemic recovery and to help create a more cohesive infrastructure for community-wide support.

During an open community meeting at the end of March, members of the Tribeca community identified the need for a Tribeca Pandemic Recovery Task Force to address areas of importance to the neighborhood such as small businesses, hospitality, real estate, marketing and outside partnerships, and community livability, and volunteers joined the group to collaborate on solutions. This effort assists many wonderful community organizations and assets that call Tribeca home.
