Competition Teams
New York Law School’s competition teams offer students the chance to learn law, legal research, and legal writing—all while representing the School in competitions locally, nationally, and even globally.
Each team has a faculty advisor or advisors who are closely involved with student work. The teams also encourage students to collaborate with, and learn from, their peers, strengthening important workplace skills that will help them excel in legal practice.
NYLS offers three competition teams, each with a distinctive focus and unique selection process.
Dispute Resolution Team
The Dispute Resolution Team (DRT) is a student-led organization that represents the School in competitions based on alternative dispute resolution methods and lawyering skills.
Moot Court Association
The Moot Court Association (MCA) is one of the nation’s largest and most successful student-run moot court organizations.
Trial Competition Team
The Trial Competition Team is a student-run competition group, focusing on excellence in trial advocacy.
