This course deals with basic principles governing the creation and enforcement of contractual obligation. Included are fundamental notions of the enforceability of promises through consideration or alternative theories, offer and acceptance and other forms of mutual assent leading to a bargain, and the judicial enforcement of contractual and quasi-contractual obligations through damages or equitable relief.

This required course is part of the Core Curriculum.  All students are required to complete this course during their first year. Concepts introduced in this course are heavily tested on the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) and New York Law Exam (NYLE).
