Movement: New York’s Long War to Take Back Its Streets From the Car chronicles more than half a century of New York political, social, economic, and cultural history through the prism of the city’s streets and transit system. Author Nicole Gelinas—a Manhattan Institute senior fellow and New York Post columnist—will discuss the legal aspects of some of the city’s street battles, including fights to fund the subways after 1970s neglect, to kill the Westway Project in the 1980s, and more.
