Matrimonial law is a deeply personal field that has a profound impact on individual litigants. The law in this area is often flexible, leaving state court matrimonial judges with much discretion to fashion appropriate relief that meets the unique needs of children and families.
As part of an hour-long discussion, several New York County matrimonial justices, past and present, will offer their perspectives on matrimonial litigation, describe the common issues that arise in their courts, and discuss the skills required of those hoping to enter the field. An hour-long networking reception will follow, where current students and alumni will have an opportunity to speak with the panelists about the practical application of matrimonial law.
