This externship course enables students to gain practical experience in corporate and regulatory entities related to the financial services industry.

Financial Services Law Externship

These unpaid externships during the Summer Session provide tremendous practical experiences regarding the practice of law within the financial services industry. Students will work at a bank, brokerage firm, exchange, asset manager, law firm, hedge fund or governmental agency on a full-time basis over the summer months. Each student will be assigned to one or more supervisory attorneys but may work for other attorneys within the firm’s Legal Department. Assignments may range from doing legal research on a variety of current legal issues, to reviewing and preparing agreements and policy manuals, etc., which encompass all various financial products, including derivatives, securities, futures and options. Professor Howard S. Meyers will serve as your Faculty Advisor.

This externship course enables students to gain practical experience in corporate and regulatory entities related to the financial services industry.
